COVID-19 statistics for NSW, May 7

As at 8pm Wednesday 6 May 2020, three additional cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed since 8pm 5 May, bringing the total to 3,044.
During that time, a record 10,902 people were tested, compared to 6,899 people in the 24 hours before. NSW Health would like to thank those with symptoms for coming forward, getting tested and ensuring as many cases in the community are identified as quickly as possible.

One case previously reported in the NSW totals has now been excluded after further testing, reflecting the adjusted overall total of 3,044 confirmed cases.
There are currently 121 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. This includes 10 people being treated in Intensive Care Units, with eight of those requiring ventilators. 80 per cent of cases are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care.
There have now been 2,463 people who have recovered from COVID-19 in NSW.
There have been no new deaths in the reporting period.
Of the three new cases, two have come from staff at Anglicare Newmarch House aged care facility. There is now a total of 68 cases, in 31 staff and 37 residents linked to that facility.
The third case is a close contact of a known case and had been in home quarantine when diagnosed.
NSW Health is urging people with symptoms, including mild symptoms, to be tested to ensure as many cases of COVID-19 in the community are as identified as quickly as possible.
This is particularly important in several new areas following a locally acquired case. These include Blacktown, Canada Bay, Cumberland, Inner West, Liverpool, Parramatta and Penrith Local Government Areas.
