Clinic times extended for Western Sydney testing blitz

The clinic at Emerton Leisure Centre will remain open over the weekend.

COVID-19 clinics are open for longer and over the weekends as we ramp up testing across Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD).

Drive-through clinics at Auburn, Blacktown Showground, Castle Hill Showground, Emerton Leisure Centre and Western Sydney University will all be open over the weekend to provide easy, convenient access to testing.

Testing is free, all ages are welcome, and no booking or GP referral is required.

WSLHD staff are also supporting the privately-run Quakers Hill drive-through clinic to now provide testing without a referral over the weekend at 6 Melrose Ave, Quakers Hill.

The increased availability comes as NSW Health focuses on western and south-western Sydney in order to find any cases of COVID-19 still circulating undetected.

If you have any symptoms, it is important you self-isolate and arrange to get tested. Symptoms of COVID-19 include a sore throat, cough, high temperature or unexplained tiredness.

There are now more than 20 testing clinics across Western Sydney Local Health District – find your nearest one here, and stay up to date with the latest COVID-19 news at the NSW Health website.

Anyone arriving for testing is advised to stay inside their vehicle at all times. Health staff follow strict infection control protocols for the safety of themselves and others.

To help protect yourself against COVID-19, exercise the following precautions:

  • Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Maintain 1.5 metres physical distance from others in public
  • Wear a face mask in public when physical distancing cannot be guaranteed
