Text a chaplain at Westmead Hospital

Westmead Hospital chaplain Sophie Boffa.

The friendly chaplaincy team at Westmead Hospital is now just a text message away thanks to another COVID-safe innovation in Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD).

Chaplains provide emotional and spiritual support to the hospital community of patients, family members, carers and staff.

You might have seen them visiting patients on the wards, conducting prayer services in the chapel, or engaging with staff, patients and visitors in their department.

Like many others, the chaplaincy team has had to make changes to how they work due to the pandemic.

While services including Christian prayer service, Catholic Mass and Friday Muslim prayers have been suspended for the time being, the team is offering some new COVID-safe ways to reach out and receive support.

Chaplains are available to respond to any messages between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
