Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) staff have paid tribute to former Cumberland Hospital forensic psychiatry staff specialist Dr Rajesh Maheshwari who recently passed away.
The 45 year-old married and much-loved father of two succumbed to cancer between the Christmas and New Year period.
Cumberland Hospital Bunya Unit clinical director John Basson said Rajesh will be dearly missed and was a wise man, good counsellor, confidant and a colleague.
“This man had enormous potential and took interest in family and personal psychodynamics,” John said.
“Rajesh was well known by many staff as he started working at Cumberland Hospital in 2009, left to work at Concord Hospital and returned to Cumberland Hospital in 2012.
“He was well known for the forensic unit work, grand round presentations, and the teaching of management of forensic psychiatry patients at Blacktown and Auburn hospitals and Parramatta Community Health Service.”
WSLHD staff attended a memorial on Tuesday, 19 January to pay tribute to the life and legacy of Dr Rajesh Maheshwari.
