Westmead Hospital welcomes landmark delivery of COVID-19 vaccines

Westmead Hospital’s vaccination hub welcomed the momentous first delivery of COVID-19 vaccines at 8am this morning, ready to begin the vaccination rollout tomorrow at Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD).
Westmead Hospital is one of three sites chosen to deliver the first phase of the history-making vaccination program to more than 35,000 eligible frontline workers in the coming weeks.
WSLHD chief executive Graeme Loy said he was proud to support the fastest vaccination program in history.
“Our staff have worked tirelessly to ensure we are ready to go tomorrow, and the last piece has fallen into place with the delivery of vaccines this morning,” Mr Loy said.
“No-one has been spared the impact of this pandemic, so it is a great honour and privilege to support this significant step forward in the fight against COVID-19.”
