Oral health sink their teeth into 2022 Quality Awards

Awards season is in full swing at Westmead Hospital in the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) with the inaugural Oral Health Quality Awards to recognise the great general, specialist and emergency dental service work provided to children and eligible adults throughout the district.
“The organisation behind the scenes have truly felt like we were preparing for the Emmy’s or the Golden Globes – and can I tell you all, that every one of you truly deserve recognition and celebration to their likes,” opened oral health general manager Josephine Kenny.
“The last couple of years have been very challenging times for us and the pandemic continues to test us like never before, but despite all this, we have quickly adapted to new ways of working and embraced the challenges to serve our community – and for that – be proud of yourselves.
Thank you for your hard work and the commitment you show day in and day out!”
Joining the event from New Zealand via Microsoft Teams, Clinical excellence commission safety culture lead Susan Simms spoke about the importance of the “human touch” that calms and connects us when interacting within the service and with one another.
“It’s these qualities that underpin quality care – and it’s the way we do things around here that matters most to staff and patients,” she said.
