HUMANS OF THE HOSPITAL: Rosemary Isaac

“When I saw the senior pharmacist clinical lead position advertised at Blacktown Mount Druitt Hospital (BMDH), I was intrigued.
I wanted to expand into a leadership role with the opportunity to do more for the department and hospital.
As a senior pharmacist, I supervise and provide support to staff in clinical activities, oversee clinical training of the pharmacists, and ensure safe, efficient, high quality pharmacy services to the wards and to staff across the hospital. Working in hospital pharmacy exposes you to a variety of clinical specialties and staff, and as a result, you build many great relationships with various clinicians on the wards and within the hospital.
My aim is to produce great outcomes for the hospital and its patients. I’m excited to be in this role and I’m up for the challenge.
I wanted to work within a district with similar geographical and socio-economic traits to South Western Sydney Local Health District and improve the care of patients who need our services the most. Western Sydney Local Health District and BMDH ticked all those boxes.
It’s important to me to see the clinical progression and growth of our pharmacists and to increase pharmacy’s presence within BMDH.
To improve healthcare outcomes for our patients is the goal.”
