Humans of the Hospital: Carolyn Miller

“I go home at the end of every day feeling like I have made a difference to not only our clients, but to the staff. I love the diversity of my role, and love the kind and supportive people I work with. Every day is different and has its new, exciting challenges.
“It really is a diverse job and I’m a bit of an office all-rounder. I could be doing anything from sorting out rosters, covering outpatient clinics, managing phone calls, ordering equipment and tracking approvals, assisting staff with HR/payroll enquiries, supporting a team of seven admin staff and helping with recruitment interviews; to organising car cleans and services for our fleet vehicles.
“If you have a passion for helping people, have a diverse range of administration skills and are compassionate and hardworking, I really recommend joining WSLHD – you will find like-minded people and discover value in what you do.”
Carolyn is a Clerical Co-ordinator in the Geriatric Medicine Department at Westmead Hospital. She has been working in WSLHD for 12 years, and has spent a total of 28 years working for NSW Health.
‘Humans of the Hospital’ is dedicated to the inspiring humans working at Westmead, Blacktown, Mount Druitt, Auburn and Cumberland hospitals in Western Sydney.
