Friday 17 November marked World Prematurity Day, and the NICU team at Westmead Hospital came together to raise awareness of premature birth and unveil their newly refurbished courtyard.

Surrounded by blossoming agapanthus, the team celebrated the dedication and generosity of staff and community partners in turning the courtyard into a space that can be enjoyed for years to come.

Gratitude filled the air and purple decorations adorned the courtyard as attendees were treated to a morning tea and opportunity to pose for photos in commemoration of the new courtyard.

Westmead Hospital General Manager, Jenelle Matic and Westmead Hospital Foundation Interim General Manager, Bianca Crvelin were joined by members of the dedicated NICU team at Westmead Hospital and community partners who all played a role in elevating this space that Bianca describes as “an oasis of hope and comfort”.
