Mount Druitt Hospital elevates patient care with new rehabilitation equipment

Patient care has received a boost at Mount Druitt Hospital with the recent installation of a cutting-edge hoist in the rehabilitation gym.

This transformative addition is the result of over 40 years of dedicated support from the Mount Druitt Hospital United Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers, whose tireless efforts have consistently enhanced the hospital’s capabilities.

These volunteers have been instrumental in securing essential medical equipment and patient support items throughout their longstanding partnership with Mount Druitt Hospital.

The patient hoist has quickly become a popular item with the rehabilitation journey of patients. Staff wasted no time in utilising the hoist, showcasing its immediate impact on their rehabilitation exercises. The hoist’s sophisticated design and functionality offer a safe and efficient means of support, significantly reducing the risk of falls and instilling newfound confidence in those undergoing rehabilitation.

Mount Druitt Hospital General Manager Brad Ceely is delighted with this enhancement to the rehab ward which will enhance patient care.

“Thank you to the hospital volunteers for providing this hoist which will help our patients with their effective rehabilitation exercises,” Brad said.

Mount Druitt Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers have once again proven their dedication to our community’s health and well-being.

The volunteers ongoing efforts are a testament to the impact of community support.
