Decked out in purple and blue, the official colours of nursing and midwifery, Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) Executive Director of Nursing, Maria Lingam and her team have thrown a series of fun events to acknowledge the incredible work of nurses and midwives across the district.

From the ‘Unity Games’ mini-Olympics event to facility visits, barbecues to awards, the celebrations have shone a light on the dedication and commitment of the district’s nursing and midwifery teams and the huge impact their work has on the western Sydney community.

“We’ve had celebrations going on since last Friday, when we first launched the International Day of the Midwife. And then every day since, we have held lots of events,” Maria said.

“I just want to say thank you for all the hard work that all of you do each and every day. It has been a joy to celebrate with you.”
